What is Healing Arts?
Healing involves both science and art to address the complex layers of our body, mind and spirit, whether it is healing from an injury or surgery, or getting to the roots of a core life issue. Kat’s work empowers powerful changes in each client’s health and outlook on life.

Massage therapy by itself is a wonderful way to balance the body’s stresses. But adding the insights into the Body-Mind connections through Somatic Psychotherapy can lead to profound transformations that goes much deeper.

Classical homeopathy is another amazing tool that can accelerate the process of healing. Like Body-Mind or Somatic Psychotherapy, a homeopathic remedy is based on the uniqueness of each person’s life and family history.

The goal of each hour and a half session is to relieve the pain and stresses of life, and catalyze the discovery of new resources, vitality and creativity. After a session it is possible to walk out with a significant shift in the body’s harmony and a renewed sense of optimism. No matter what is going on, relief is possible.

Who Can Benefit?
If you are a professional dancer or athlete, or do another physically demanding job, you depend on your relationship with your body. This work can help you address overuse issues, and stay attuned and at your peak.

If you are stressed out in a fast paced job or school, or parenting the complex needs of your children, your busy life might not leave much time for self-care. This work can help you slow down to find the balance you need to stay healthy in spite of the stresses.

If you have had traumas, injuries or illnesses, you may be seeking a holistic, drug free approach. Physical pain, chaotic emotions, dysfunctional beliefs or behaviors can all be intertwined. This work is an integrative approach to the whole person, so you can discover and effectively address the root causes in a powerful, transformational and deeply touching way

Everyone can benefit from a deeper relationship with themselves. We only get one chance at this life, so taking good care of our body, soul and spirit is our great privilege and responsibility.

Most of my sessions start with the body, addressing the physical aspect of your pain. There are many door ways into your whole body, through the many different systems. Several techniques start with the muscular system: Swedish Massage, Neuromuscular Massage, Deep Tissue Massage, Prenatal Massage. Manual Lymph Drainage specifically addresses the lymphatic system. Bowen and Neurostructural Integration access the nervous system, and thus everything else. Reflexology uses the reflex points on the meridians of the hands and feet to stimulate and relax the whole body. Cranio Sacral Therapy touches the cerebro-spinal rhythms and assists the circulation of these internal tides. Active Isolated Stretching opens the connective tissue at the joints. We consult together to choose the appropriate doorway into your body for any given session, which allows the integration of all the other systems.
Practice Areas/Issues Treated
 Chiropractic  Massage Therapy
 Medical Doctor (MD)
I got my first Healing Arts job in 1979, teaching dance and doing massage therapy in a health club, even before I had formal massage training. My undergraduate degree in dance and the humanities was a natural introduction to understanding the body and mind. Over my 35 year practice, my mentors have been dance and art teachers; homeopathic and naturopathic physicians; trauma and attachment experts; relationship and leadership coaches; faith healers and prophetic evangelists; animal trainers and organic gardeners. . .in short, brilliant innovators who see the most coherent principles of life, and who have found ways to give their greatest gifts to see others grow.

Besides an insatiable curiosity about the mysteries of the human condition, I try to live a simple graceful life of worship and reverence for God in all I do. Besides my passion for the Healing Arts, my own therapy is gardening for food and beauty, dancing and drawing my story, hiking in wild and rocky landscapes, and learning the multi-faceted lessons of love.

I became an ordained minister of the Gospel, because the power of God is essential to healing. As I keep learning to apply the principles that Jesus taught, I see supernatural solutions to problems that transcend what I can do with my human abilities. There is something about healing that invites an ongoing conversation with our Creator to discern what is really going on. . .and I am awed and humbled by all the spiritual tools God has given us to heal. What if we could go beyond healing the brokenness in our lives, and be restored to our original design of being made in God’s image? We might have the vitality for self-healing, and be able to love and be loved without fear, fulfilling our destiny with incredible intuition, creativity, effectiveness!
