Dr. Short is a Board Certified Atlas Orthogonist in Florida.
Her focus is on safe, gentle, well-reseached chiropractic care; her primary technique being Activator Methods. The more Dr. Short heard the statement "I'm afraid of chiropractors," the more determined she became to provide quality care that was safe, gentle and effective.
She also incorporates several other chiropractic techniques into her work for optimal results, including Atlas Orthogonal, Thompson drop, Cox flexion-distraction, SOT blocking. Dr. Short also utilizes her sports medicine and massage therapy backgrounds using many therapies to address affected soft tissue as well.
Dr. Short is a 2008 graduate of Life University in Marietta, Georgia. She is currently practicing as in Jacksonville, Florida. Dr. Short is a chiropractic physician and has obtained Fellowship through the International Academy of Medical Acupuncture, studying under Dr. John Amaro.
During her time at Life University, she completed an internship at The Sweat Institute for Atlas Orthogonal, training under Dr. Roy Sweat, the founder of the Atlas Orthogonal technique. She also holds certification in the Activator Methods technique.
Dr. Short received her undergraduate degree in sports medicine, athletic training from Indiana State University. While at Indiana State, she served as athletic trainer for the 1999-2000 Men's basketball team and completed an internship with the Detroit Redwings.
Short also holds a Master's degree in sports medicine from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. While in graduate school, she completed reseach that was later published in the Journal of Athletic Training in 2004.
