Therapeutic Essentials
We are a treatment based massage program focusing on helping people more effectively deal with their pain. Providing relief and recovery from both chronic or on-going pain as well as acute or sudden pain is our highest priority.

We specialize in working with individuals dealing with physical injuries, injuries caused by accidents, cancer, prenatal issues and chronic stress. We carefully listen to your pain history in order to work collaboratively with you to determine the best course of treatment to advance your recovery.

Swedish Massage Therapy: is the modality that comes to mind when most people think about massage. As the best-known type of bodywork performed today, one of the primary goals of the Swedish massage technique is to relax the entire body. This is accomplished by rubbing the muscles with long gliding strokes in the direction of blood returning to the heart. But Swedish massage therapy goes beyond relaxation. Swedish massage is exceptionally beneficial for increasing the level of oxygen in the blood, decreasing muscle toxins, improving circulation and increasing flexibility while simultaneously easing tension throughout the body.

Sports Massage Therapy: is geared toward athletes of every kind, from world-class professionals to weekend joggers. Sports massage techniques are specific to the athlete's sport of choice focusing on overused and stressed areas of the body resulting from repetitive and often aggressive movements.

Deep Tissue Massage Therapy: is similar to Swedish massage, but the deeper pressure is beneficial in releasing chronic muscle tension. The focus is on the deepest layers of muscle tissue, tendons and fascia (the protective layer surrounding muscles, bones and joints).

A study in the Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine found that people's blood pressure fell after a single 45 to 60 minute deep tissue massage. Additionally, a 2010 meta-analysis in the Journal of Clinical Psychiatry found that massage modalities like deep tissue reduce stress hormone levels and heart rate while boosting mood and relaxation by triggering the release of oxytocin and serotonin.

Prenatal Massage Therapy: during pregnancy is a wonderful complementary choice for prenatal care. It is a healthy way to reduce stress and promote overall wellness. Massage relieves many of the normal discomforts experienced during pregnancy, such as backaches, stiff neck, leg cramps, headaches and edema (or swelling). In addition, massage reduces stress on weight-bearing joints, encourages blood and lymph circulation, helps to relax nervous tension-which aids in better sleep-and can help relieve depression or anxiety caused by hormonal changes.
