Bio
Dr. Chuck Affatato was born in Queens, New York. He grew up and attended school in Port Washington, Long Island. As a child he would massage his parents’ backs and necks while on drives in the car, which planted the seed that he wanted to help others in that way.

He went to State University of New York in Albany, New York. While in attendance there he majored in Biology and minor in Business. Undecided what to do after college he moved to Boulder, Colorado where he enjoyed hiking, biking, running, golfing and skiing. During the two years he spent there he wavered between returning to the east coast to pursue a career in international business and moving to the West Coast to study chiropractic. Ultimately he knew his passion was to help others, so he decided to move to San Jose California to attend Palmer College of Chiropractic West. After graduating he moved to San Francisco where he met and married his wife, Laurie.

After starting a family, together they decided to move back to Laurie’s hometown of Salem, Oregon. Like many young girls, their daughter Alex loved gymnastics. She took gymnastics with with the daughter of Misty Ramsey. Misty told Chuck that she was a massage therapist and that early in her massage career, she had been mentored by a chiropractor in Silverton. She personally witnessed how patients benefited from the combination of chiropractic massage therapy. Dr. Affatato told her that he was traveling between Salem and San Francisco to sell his practice in California. once his practice was sold he welcomed the opportunity to work alongside Misty's massage therapy business, West Salem Wellness.

Dr. Affatato named his practice CentAnni Chiropractic. CentAnni (chent-ahn-nee) is an Italian cheer wishing “ everyone present one hundred years of happiness”. When he heard the Italian cheer it tied together both his personal goals and professional approach to health and happiness.
